Orlando, FL, October 01, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- Local start-up BookThatDoc launches a new, innovative way for Exchange and Medicare enrollees to book an appointment with a healthcare provider instantly during open enrollment starting October 2015. BookThatDoc has partnered with local MSO, Orlando Family Physicians to offer a customized booking app for agents to schedule an appointment instantly with one of their 18 providers, in 6 locations throughout the tri-county area in Central Florida. The app will give more access to agents who need to establish a new primary care relationship for their clients and replaces outdated solutions like a dedicated phone line or email. Patients can also directly schedule with Orlando Family Physician providers on their website e.orlandofamilyphysicians.com or bookthatdoc.com.
Jorge Garcia, CEO of Premier Health Network says “Orlando Family Physicians believes that every person deserves quality healthcare when it’s needed. We continuously look for new and innovative ways give more access to patients and deliver value based results. Our partnership with BookThatDoc has given us a way to reach patients who need to establish a new relationship with a primary care provider and schedule a timely appointment.” Orlando Family Physicians is reserving 60 appointments per day for the patients who schedule through their online app.
“We are striving every day to find innovative solutions to an age old problem, finding a doctor and scheduling an appointment. A person’s health is one of the most important things in their day to day life and we believe that one of the major barriers is access to preventative care. In this age of technology, every person, no matter the age uses a desktop or mobile device to manage their person life, we want this to be the case for healthcare as well,” said Matt Bohannon, Founder of BookThatDoc.
With a growing focus on value based care and with the recent losses seen by several major insurance carriers on their exchange members its becoming clear that a partnership between payers and providers is needed in order to manage the medical conditions of its population. Technologies like BookThatDoc who are focused on being the “path of least resistance” for patients to get established with a local provider shows us that the future is bright for a more cohesive healthcare environment.
