Precision Door Service Corporate Donates Montana Hunting Adventure to Wounded Warrior Project

Titusville, FL, October 07, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Precision Door Service Corporate is donating an Elk Hunting Adventure with Hell’s A Roarin’ Outfitters to Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). WWP has selected Captain Joseph Caley to participate in the hunt. Hells A Roarin’ Outfitters have a remote backcountry camp in the Absaroke-Beartooth Wilderness, adjacent to the northern boundary of Yellowstone National Park.

Captain Joseph Caley’s story in his own words, “I am a medically retired U. S. Army Captain. I currently live in Augusta, GA with my wonderful family. I did not think a person with my disabilities and injuries could ever be selected for such an adventure. Allow me to back up.

“On the night of September 18th 2009 my platoon was conducting a mission south of Bagdad in Iraq. Only 15 minutes after leaving the base my platoon was stopped by a horrendous explosion. This first explosion resulted in the many Iraqi civilians being wounded along a market place. Being the platoon leader I made the command decision that we would render medical aid to the civilians until the Iraqi military and police can come take care of their citizens. Within the blast site an older Iraqi man was trapped within a burning semi-truck. I ran to free the man and after several attempts the doors on the truck would not open and the fire was beginning to enter the cab of the truck. After finally getting the door open and freeing the man a second explosion behind us along the shoulder of the rode went off. This explosion resulted in me being blown off my feet and unconscious. I eventually was medically evacuated to Germany and spent 31 days in the hospital there and eventually flown back to the United States for more medical treatment. I ended up being hospitalized until August 2011. In this time I endured multiple surgeries to my lower extremities and treated for my 2nd traumatic brain injury. This time the blast left me with vestibular paresis.

“That was Iraq, before then I grew up hunting and fishing with my family. Of course one of the things that cross your mind when you are in a hospital bed is will I be the same, will I be able to do the things I used to do. In my case a lot had changed and sadly I would now have a new normal in life. Physically I was left with mobility issues. In 2012 I had learned of a new electronic leg harness system being developed and in 2014 after working with the Mayo Clinic and PGA Tour I was able to become the first Veteran bilateral recipient of the Bioness plus system. This system allows me to walk, climb and negotiate different types of terrain by sending electrical impulses to the correct muscle groups in a correct sequence just like natural walking. I have been able to get support from my doctors so I could have my leg units calibrated for Montana’s terrain. Thanks to all of you at Precision Door Service. You are making this possible and giving me an experience I once thought would never be possible. I thank you for your support of the Wounded Warrior Project. My wife Mary, daughter Alaina, and son JD are excited for this opportunity for me as they know it was one of those dream bucket list items I had always wanted to do!”

William Walden, President of Precision Door Service, “The Wounded Warrior Project has an amazing mission. Everyone in our corporate office is proud to be a part of making a dream come true for Captain Caley, a true American hero.”
