Association Wins Competitive Edge, New Member Benefit: Retailowner.com

Associations, Corporations to Follow Craft and Hobby Association’s Lead, Adding Retailowner.com as Member Benefit.

Seattle, WA, December 13, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Craft and Hobby Association forged a partnership with The Retail Owners Institute® whereby CHA’s 5,700 members will have free and unlimited access to ROI’s web site www.Retailowner.com starting Jan. 1, 2008.

The partnership gives the CHA a competitive edge over the many associations that never grow beyond offering the staple member benefits of discounted freight and bankcard savings. Retailowner.com offers self-help financial management and tools that help retail owners better manage their toughest challenges: how to control inventory, debt, cash and profits.

“Through this new partnership, the CHA will better assist craft retailers by providing them with the necessary tools, resources and business know-how to thrive in a competitive market,” said Sandy Ghezzi, CHA’s vice president of marketing, member services and education.

“Craft and hobby retailers typically open a store because they love their craft or they love working with the people who share their interests and enthusiasms,” said Patricia Johnson, Co-Founder of The ROI. “They don’t open a store to be a CFO or controller. All too often, financial business issues make or break their dreams.”

RetailOwner.com offers more than 200 pages of retail financial how-to information; more than 40 retail financial management how-to articles, a Short Course on Retail Financial Basics, online calculators for key retail math, and much more. Starting Jan. 1, all CHA Members get full Special Access Privileges to all of The ROI’s site, including the two-thirds of the site’s content that is in The ROI’s Members-Only Collection. CHA Members can access this $499 annual value at no charge.

“We are in discussions with other associations, franchises and manufacturers that work closely with their own network of independent retailers to offer special access memberships,” said Richard Outcalt, co-founder of The ROI. “We expect to sign several sizable deals in the coming months.”
