ZabCab(TM) for the Greater Good: Taxi App Will Donate to Breast Cancer Research This Month When Users Post Selfies Taken in Cabs

Add #ShareYourFare @ ZabCab to Photo Captions on Social Media, and ZabCab Will Donate $1 to The Save The Ta-Tas Foundation, Which Funds Breast Cancer Research and Awareness

Miami, FL, October 10, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Now you can ZabCabTM for the greater good. The app that makes it easy to grab a cab is now making it just as simple to help great causes.

All you have to do is tap your ZabCab app to hail a cab, then snap a selfie in a cab (alone or with your friends), and post your pics on social media with #ShareYouFare @ZabCab. For every post that bears the tag, ZabCab will donate $1 to an organization that is doing good in the South Florida community.

For October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the donations will go to the Save the Ta-Tas Foundation, a non-profit organization that funds breast cancer research, awareness, and education.

“ZabCab is the taxi app that cares,” said Martin Heikel, CEO of Flatiron Apps, LLC, which launched ZabCab in Miami and Fort Lauderdale on September 28. “We’re not here in South Florida just to make it easier to get around; we want to see the community thrive and to help Floridians who are faced by difficult challenges. With this program, we can support important causes together. You post the photos, we’ll donate the funds. It’s that simple.”

Each month, ZabCab will choose a different organization to support. Heikel said the Save the Ta-Tas Foundation was a great choice to start off the program.

“The Save the Ta-Tas Foundation is a wonderful organization that is fighting the good fight to cure breast cancer,” he said. “ZabCab users who post their selfies throughout October can rest assured that, while they are catching a ride to meet friends for a night out, or taking a cab to work or to shop, they are also helping women overcome this very serious disease.”

The Save the Ta-Tas Foundation was founded in 2008 by designer Julia Fikse. Since then, it has donated more than $1 million to battling cancer at every stage by supporting break-through cancer research, awareness, education, community service and more.

The ZabCab app introduced last month is the improved, commercial version of the successful ZabKab app, which Flatiron Apps beta-tested in 2012 in New York City, one of the toughest taxi environments in America. Over 2,000 taxi drivers and 20,000 passengers signed up in the first two weeks; more than 100,000 people downloaded the app in total. Since then, as the demand has continued to grow for a smartphone app that hails regulated taxis, Flatiron Apps completely upgraded the ZabCab technology.
