Kamado Grille is Proud to Host "Sawyerfest" to Benefit Sawyer Powell Through Get Stuff Done for Kids

Raleigh, NC, October 17, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Sawyer Powell is a first grader at Harris Creek Elementary School in Wake Forest, NC, and in July of 2013, Sawyer was diagnosed with ependymoma, which is a currently an incurable form of brain cancer.

Sawyer recently underwent brain surgery and after six weeks of radiation, showed signs of remission. Unfortunately, Sawyer’s most recent tests showed a nodule in the same place as his original tumor and because of this recurrence, his treatment options have become very limited.

Sawyer lives at home in Wake Forest, NC, with his father, Jeb, and grandmother. The Powell family has incurred significant medical bills as a result of Sawyer’s diagnosis and can use all of the support that they can get to help offset their expenses and find a cure for this terrible disease.

Kamado Grille restaurant is doing its part by hosting “Sawyerfest” along with Get Stuff Done for Kids (gsd4kids.org) on October 17th, 2015 from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM in north Raleigh, NC. The goal of Sawyerfest is to raise awareness and funds to support the fight against ependymoma. There will be great food and drink specials and there will be activities for all ages including: carnival games, a silent auction, raffle, and a sidewalk chalk contest.

Those not able to attend Sawyerfest can help support finding a cure for ependymoma, and the Powell family, by donating online through YouCaring, bit.ly/SawyerPowell.
