More Than 100 Children Perform Street Plays at Epicenter on Oct 28

Gurgaon, India, October 25, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The journey of the second edition of “Dastak - A clarion call by young minds” is finally reaching the final stage and will conclude when these children perform on 28th October at Epicentre. They plan to make you hear the unforgettable, see the memorable and make you experience their innovative ideas taking form.

Dastak, an initiative of ELNA was launched last year with a vision of developing core life skills of the students by integrating co-curricular with curricular activities. It is developed with an objective of giving school children a means to express their ideas and solutions to the society through theatre. Dastak helps students connect with their social environment and use the knowledge learnt in class to finding solutions to the problems existing in the society.

Last year Dastak saw 10 schools with over 800 students participating. This year, 7 prestigious schools of Gurgaon are participating with over 600 students being a part of it. Also, Dastak has travelled to Lucknow, wherein 8 schools are participating with more than 1500 students.

This year ELNA also experimented with Dastak and brought rural school also in its gambit, with developing Rural Dastak which happened in Bandhwadi Village in Gurgoan District and culminated in August 2015. More than 100 students were a part of the Rural Dastak workshops.

This is an all children show, where every aspect is being created by children starting from stories writing to scripting to acting. Teachers are merely facilitators and sometimes spectators enjoying their children do what they have been doing for them all these years. The themes for this year’s Dastak are “Swachh Bharat” and “Drug Prevention.”
