Ascaya Appoints John Simmons Project Director

Former City of Henderson executive represented more than $500 million in capital improvements for the city and completed the $300 million Orlando Eye development.

Henderson, NV, November 05, 2015 --(PR.com)-- ASCAYA has appointed John Simmons project director of its community of 313 custom luxury home sites in Henderson. Simmons is responsible for the overall development of the community including the $25 million ASCAYA clubhouse, seven multi-million dollar inspiration homes, amenities, landscaping and maintenance of the development and managing guidelines for custom home construction and development.

Prior to joining ASCAYA, Simmons handled several major projects in Henderson through his career with the City of Henderson from 1981 to 2004. His work as construction manager represented more than $500 million in capital improvements for the City.

The Southern Nevada native has operated a private consulting business for the past 11 years. He served as a consultant for ASCAYA’s original development from 2005-2008 and most recently, completed the $300 million Orlando Eye development which boasts the third tallest observation wheel in the world.

Simmons is actively involved with community organizations including board positions with the Henderson District Library, the State of Nevada Library and Literacy Board, Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth and HopeLink of Southern Nevada. He was awarded the Florence McClure Award from the Citizens Committee on Victims’ Rights for his contributions to the construction of Safe House in Henderson.

Simmons is currently managing the development of ASCAYA’s clubhouse, scheduled to start construction in early 2016. Designed by Swaback Partners architectural firm, the 22,000 square foot clubhouse will include a resort-style pool with integrated lap pool, tennis courts, meeting spaces, exercise room, movement studio, spa, children’s play area, and event lawn.

Simmons is also managing the construction of ASCAYA’s first inspiration home, which will begin construction in October. Designed by renowned southern California design firm Marmol Radziner, the 7,373-square-foot home will include four bedrooms, four baths, and a powder room. It will be situated on an approximately 19,542-square-foot home site.

ASCAYA’s first home began construction in August and several more are scheduled to break ground by the end of the year.
