)-- Dr Monica Monici, the Scientific Director of the ASAlaser Scientific Research Department, a company for over 30 years at the forefront in the study and implementation of laser therapies to fight pain, and of ASAcampus activities within the scope of the Joint Laboratory for Research in Physical Stress Biology in association with the Experimental and Clinical Biological Sciences Department of the University of Florence, was elected President of the European Low Gravity Research Association (ELGRA).
ELGRA, a non-profit International Scientific Society, devoted to the promotion of scientific research under various gravity conditions (microgravity and hypergravity), established in 1979, provides a networking platform for all scientists interested in life and physical sciences and technology in space, aiming at representing and strengthening the scientific community, carrying out its researches in this field, and helping young scientists to get involved in this scientific research through training programs dedicated to them.
"We congratulate Dr Monici on this important recognition," Lucio Zaghetto, the ASAlaser President, says, "and we are extremely proud to have her as a part of our team. Her professional contribution in recent years has been instrumental in the development of studies and research devoted to laser applications." She contributed substantially to the birth and creation of the Energy for Health journal (a semiannual scientific journal created by ASAcampus), of which Dr Monici is executive editor, too. "Dr Monici has reached another significant milestone in her professional development," Roberto Marchesini, the ASAlaser Managing Director, says at the end "which represents not only a solid proof of her value but her strong commitment to research too. It is a privilege for us to have her as a part of our team."
