CardPak® Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Cleveland-based paperboard packaging pioneer marks 50 years of service to Fortune 500 companies across the globe.

Cleveland, OH, November 27, 2015 --(PR.com)-- CardPak celebrated its 50th anniversary on November 15, 2015 as nearly 400 employees, customers and suppliers celebrated at its headquarters in Solon, OH. Launched as a skinboard manufacturer, CardPak now offers full-service, eco-friendly paperboard packaging solutions for leading global consumer brands across many industries. The recipient of many industry awards for design, construction and sustainability, CardPak attributes its success to its unwavering devotion to its employees, customers and community. “Our 50th anniversary celebration honored our customers, employees and suppliers who have contributed to our success. Their commitment to CardPak have made this momentous milestone possible,” said Lisa Thomas, CardPak co-owner.

“It’s a very exciting time for CardPak. Our future is bright,” shared Rick Thomas, CardPak co-owner and CEO. “We are well positioned to deliver custom packaging solutions as well as provide environmentally sustainable products with maximum graphic appeal for retailers. We’re at the forefront of 'club packaging' which revolutionized club store packaging by converting the typical “clamshell” type of package to the current 'trapped blister,' significantly reducing the amount of plastic used to enclose products. Our innovation continues as we recently pioneered a process that requires no heat for sealing by using a proprietary coating,” continued Rick Thomas.

True to its commitment to serving its customers ever-changing needs, CardPak has offered innovative solutions such as combination runs which allow customers to team up and share a print run. The company launched this cost and time saving industry innovation over twenty years ago and since then has printed more than 170 million combo press sheets.

CardPak’s devotion to its employees and the community includes an Earth day program it started in 2009 with the Solon schools. It has proudly donated hundreds of saplings and CardPak managers teach children about the natural renewability of paperboard packaging as they together plant the saplings in biodegradable milk cartons.
