Sharon Reuler Appointed to State Bar Committee

Dallas attorney Sharon Reuler was appointed to the Property Owners Associations Committee of the Real Estate, Probate & Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.

Dallas, TX, December 02, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Dallas attorney Sharon Reuler was appointed as one of eight charter members of the Property Owners Associations Committee of the Real Estate, Probate & Trust Law (REPTL) Section of the State Bar of Texas, which held its inaugural meeting on February 5, 2015. Rick Spencer, 2014‑2015 Chair of the State Bar's REPTL Section, counts the new POA Committee as one of the hallmarks of his administration.

"Our first task was choosing a name for our committee," said Reuler. "What started as the Common Interest Ownership Committee became the POA Committee because - in Texas - the practice area is most often called 'POA Law.'" Sharon serves on two subcommittees of the POA Committee, one of which is investigating the possibility of developing a legal specialization for lawyers who practice POA Law.

Sharon Reuler is one of the best known and most published attorneys in Texas on the law of common interest communities ‑ anything with a mandatory owners association. A graduate of The University of Texas School of Law, Sharon has practiced exclusively in the area of deed restricted developments and property owners associations since 1987. Since 2002, she largely limits her representation to residential real estate developers. She has her own firm.

Other charter members of the POA Committee are Judd Austin (Dallas), Bob Burton (Austin), David Conoly (Corpus Christi), Connie Heyer (Austin), Marc Markel (Houston), and chair Austin Barsalou (Houston). Houston attorney Roy Hailey co-chaired the POA Committee's organizational meeting only 10 days before his sudden passing, from which the new group is still recovering.
