Pioneer Family Law Attorney-Mediator Speaks at South Bay Conference

Diana Mercer, Esq. and Tara Fass, LMFT to Share Keys to Resolving Family Conflict

Playa Del Rey, CA, December 20, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Last week, the South Bay Estate Planning Council hosted its December meeting featuring keynote Speakers Diana Mercer, Esq. and Tara Fass, LMFT, of Peace Talks Mediation Services.

Pioneers in the field of family law mediation, Mercer and Fass discussed the importance of communication in devising a functional estate plan and shared their insights on how to resolve conflicts if they do arise. “Mix families and money, and you’re bound to have conflict at some point. Learning how to deal with conflicts when they do arise can help you create an estate plan that is a legacy for lasting peace.”

“I was prepared to be bored, but they did a great job presenting,” said Michael Millea, an attorney at Marcus & Millichap and member of the council in attendance. Millea was impressed by their thoughtful approach to estate planning, which helps families deal with not only the legal and tax issues in estate planning but the family dynamics as well, leading to long-term solutions that are both legally and emotionally sound.

While Mercer is best known for her work in the field of divorce mediation, she has recently expanded her practice to include estate planning mediation services. Like divorce mediation, the estate planning sessions offer an open communication forum to discuss and resolve potential issues before the plan is finalized. “When you give all of the stakeholders a voice in the process, the final estate plan can achieve everyone’s goals.”

Mercer and Fass will be presenting The 7 Keys to Resolving Conflicts at Work at the Newport Beach ProVisors meeting on January 19, 2008. For more information, visit www.provisors.com and www.peace-talks.com
