Orthopedic Associates Hires Hand and Upper Extremity Surgeon

St. Louis orthopedic group continues to grow with newest addition.

Des Peres, MO, December 09, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Orthopedic Associates, a medical practice consisting of seven board-certified orthopedic surgeons and specialists, recently hired Dr. Robert R. Bell as its new hand and upper extremity surgeon. Dr. Bell specializes in treating adults’ orthopedic problems from the shoulder to the hand. He is on staff at Des Peres Square Surgery Center and Missouri Baptist Medical Center.

Dr. Bell is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who has treated a wide array of work-related injuries of the hand, wrist and elbow during his more than 20 years in practice. Prior to joining Orthopedic Associates, he worked with an orthopedic group in Texas. Dr. Bell previously served as a team physician for universities in Alabama, Texas and Virginia.

Dr. Bell completed his fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery from the combined program of the University of Virginia and the American Sports Medicine Institute. He completed his surgical internship at the Medical College of Virginia and his residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He graduated from medical school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Dr. Bell is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, as well as a member of the American Association of Hand Surgeons. He has lectured at universities across the U.S. and around the world. He is a published author who has written about sports-related injuries of the wrist and hand.
