)-- Custom Computer Specialists, Inc. ("Custom"), a leading IT services provider, hosted Career Day at Islip High School on December 9th. Titled “The Future in Business Technology” by the students in Islip’s Business Academy, the day focused on enlightening 10th grade students to the countless available career paths, the role technology plays in those careers, and the skills that are needed to ensure success.
Approximately ten business leaders representing various industries spoke with students and answered questions regarding their education, training, background, inspiration, and “a day in the life” of their career. Presenters included Custom’s clients and partners, including North Shore-LIJ Health System, St. John’s University, Dell, IntraLogic Solutions, and Ignition Marketing.
“Islip School District is working diligently to not only prepare students for college but to be successful citizens in a global world,” says Susan Schnebel, Superintendent of Islip Public Schools. “In order to aim for the future, one must know the target. We are thrilled to partner with Custom Computer Specialists who share our vision that by giving students the opportunity to learn about the job market of the future, they can begin on a path to a successful career.”
