Veteran Attorney Jeffery Leving on WGCI Helping Divorced Fathers Cope During the Holidays

Chicago, IL, December 13, 2015 --(PR.com)-- On Dec. 13, nationally renowned family law attorney, and celebrated author, Jeffery M. Leving will appear on WGCI (107.5 FM) at 7 a.m. helping divorced fathers cope during the holidays. He will also discuss the free upcoming Illinois Council on Responsible Fatherhood’s (ICRF) annual symposium on Dec. 19, which will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Oak Park Library, 834 Lake Street, Oak Park, IL. Leving is the governor appointed ICRF Chairman and a moderator of the upcoming event.

Leving has compiled years of research that show the devastating effects of father absence on children. The presence of a father is even more vital around cornerstone events like Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. The holidays provide opportunities to create memories and traditions to be shared, which is an essential part to maintaining stability and comfort in tumultuous lives that can grow and flourish from a divorced home.

“Home is where the heart is and fathers are a crucial part to building the foundation,” said Leving. “The ICRF is here to provide a solution to father absence by promoting positive father involvement with their children and contributing resources to support all dads in all communities.”

The free ICRF symposium will focus on critical issues facing single and divorced fathers today. The symposium’s speakers include social justice leaders as leading matrimonial attorney Maureen A. Gorman and Illinois private detective Wayne Halick, who will both speak on a wide range of fatherhood-related topics focused on keeping children safe during the holidays. Chairman Leving and ICRF council members want to ensure that fathers are provided the essential support and parenting tools to assume the important role they play in their children’s lives.

Attorney Leving is a leader in the fathers’ rights movement, attorney and author of the book How to Be a Good Divorced Dad, which has received praise from President Barack Obama, and was endorsed by Cardinal Francis George of the Archdiocese of Chicago. He has spent his life making significant strides supporting paternal involvement.

Leving will also appear Saturday, Dec. 12 at 7 a.m. on WGRB (1390 AM) and Sunday, Dec. 13 at 7:30 a.m. on WVAZ V-103 with Darryl Dennard, continuing the discussion of these important topics.
