Long Term Care Insurance Expert to Develop Short Term Care Marketing Initiatives

Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance announced he is developing 2016 marketing initiatives to promote short term care insurance.

Los Angeles, CA, December 22, 2015 --(PR.com)-- To create national awareness for the value provided by short-term care insurance, a strategic marketing campaign is being planned by the nation's leading long term care insurance organization.

"Short term care insurance protection is a highly affordable way to obtain some measure of protection again the catastrophic risk of needing care at home or in a skilled care facility," declares Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance (AALTCI). The trade group head recently created the National Advisory Center for Short Term Care. Slome met last week with the heads of the nation's leading short term care insurance providers.

Slome announced today plans to develop short term care marketing initiatives that will build awareness in 2016. "We are planning efforts that will focus on creating heightened awareness among consumers and supporting those insurance professionals who currently market short term care insurance products."

Short-term care insurance provides benefits for 365 days or less. Some policies, Slome explains closely resemble traditional long-term care insurance. "They will pay for home care, assisted living or skilled nursing home care," the leading long term care insurance expert noted. "Some policies provide just a home care benefit plus other features that are especially valuable for individuals with Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplement plans."

The organization recently reported that sales of short term care insurance policies grew 71 percent during the first six months of 2015. "This is a very viable and affordable solution for the millions of seniors who have made a decision not to buy a traditional long term care insurance policy as well as those who might have been declined for health reasons," Slome concludes.
