Any Road Press Releases New Book on Chronic Pain

Fairfax, CA, January 17, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Any Road Press announces its new release, "The Pain Companion: Practical Tools for Living With and Moving Beyond Chronic Pain." Author Sarah Anne Shockley advocates accepting pain's presence as a positive force and a natural part of the healing process.

Shockley believes that resisting and pushing against pain may contribute to its longevity and help lock it in place. She advocates shifting one's stance toward pain from enemy to ally, which begins to release tension, contraction, and stress, and thereby reduces pain's holding patterns in the body.

Shockley believes that the most effective approaches to pain reduction must address not only the physical aspects of pain, but the emotional challenges that living with persistent pain engender, including fear, isolation, sadness, anger, and hopelessness.

Sarah Anne Shockley contracted an unusually severe form of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome in the Fall of 2007, and has lived with debilitating nerve pain since then. Her new book, "The Pain Companion: Practical Tools for Living With and Moving Beyond Chronic Pain," will be released January 15, and will be available through all major book retailers.
