Nimbus Partners with Music Generation to Create Once in a Lifetime Opportunity for Irish Student

Vancouver, Canada, January 24, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Nimbus School of Recording & Media is pleased to announce their partnership with Music Generation, Ireland’s National Music Education Programme, to provide a full 12 month scholarship in audio engineering and music production to one exceptional Irish student.

Thanks to the partnership with Music Generation, co-founded by U2, the winner of the Music Generation Audio Engineering & Music Production Scholarship, also has all accommodation, living costs, and return flights covered for one full year.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer this exciting opportunity to an aspiring young Irish music producer and engineer,” said Rosaleen Malloy, National Director of Music Generation.

Out of 75 applications, and a rigorous screening process, including interviews, twenty-year-old Ross Fahy of Galway, was selected as the winner of the Music Generation Audio Engineering & Music Production Scholarship. Ross is currently enrolled in the Nimbus Advanced Music Production program.

The partnership between Nimbus and Music Generation is a natural one as U2 and Nimbus co-founder Bob Ezrin have been friends for many years. Ezrin and The Edge co-founded Music Rising to rescue the musical culture of the Central Gulf region of the United States by replacing the musical instruments lost in the destruction caused by the catastrophic hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005.

“This is an incredible opportunity for a young Irish producer or audio engineer to live in Vancouver and study at Nimbus, one of the world’s leading music production schools. Partnering with such a globally recognised music institution is very exciting for Music Generation, and a well-deserved step towards a future career in music for Ross.” - The Edge

“Everyone at Nimbus is thrilled to have Ross join us here at the school,” said Bob Ezrin. “I am pleased that we have joined with Music Generation to provide this unique experience to an aspiring young music entrepreneur.”

Ross arrived in Vancouver late August 2015, and is currently in his fifth month of a 12 month diploma at Nimbus:

“Nimbus is a step above. It’s real world training,” said Fahy. “The class sizes are much smaller and it’s very hands on. Everything I’m learning here is gold, and all the students are on a similar vibe, which is really cool. There are no egos. Everyone is here for the same reason and there’s a shared common bond.”
