Orange County, CA Couple Advocate for Public Support as Husband Battles Stage IV Lymphoma

After a tragic car accident in 2012 which resulted in Dean Brooks experiencing brain trauma, followed by a recent diagnosis of stage IV cancer, a professional couple faces immense struggles to make ends meet and save their home.

Irvine, CA, February 12, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Deborah Brooks recently set up a GoFundMe campaign, available at www.gofundme.com/savedean where the public can contribute to Dean and Deborah, as the couple is currently having difficulty keeping the utilities on, having funds to buy proper food on an ongoing basis, and are at great risk of losing their safe haven, their family home, as her husband battles cancer. Actor, athlete, real estate agent, and author Dean Brooks suffered mild brain trauma from a car accident in 2012, which resulted in an early stage of Dementia limiting Dean’s ability to work since 2012. He was recently diagnosed with Stage IV Lymphoma during Christmas time of 2015, and is currently undergoing Chemotherapy. His wife, Deborah recently stated that his prognosis is good, if he can endure up to six months of chemotherapy.

Deborah has supported the family since 2012 when Dean was no longer able to work due to the cognitive impairment which resulted from the car accident. Deborah took over in maintaining their provisions and supported both of them, and their shih tzu since the accident through her interior design practice. At the present time, she is not able to work in terms of getting out to see design clients, as she is by Dean’s side, assisting him as he has been experiencing immense side effects from the Chemotherapy. Deborah is also an artist. Deborah states, “I started painting in 1995, and I was Divinely Inspired by an ancient story of the the first Archangels ever told about in history, they are 'The Most Ancient of all Angels.'” She stated she found a book about the angels. According to Deborah she is "the first and only one in history to have brushed the seven beautiful Archangels, 'each different, each bearing a gift of love to life.'” She then started reproducing the very large paintings as museum edition giclees available in various sizes. Deborah states, “as a heartfelt thank you to all who participate” she is offering reproductions of her art, at various donation levels in the GoFundMe campaign. Dean, also known as a tremendous talent by those who know him and his work, wrote books regarding his wife’s art work. The public may visit www.deborahbrooks.com to view Deborah’s art work and for more information regarding Dean’s books. Direct inquiries regarding interest in various paintings for purchase may be directed to Dean’s wife and artist, Deborah Brooks.

As summarized on the GoFundMe page, at the onset of his career, Dean Brooks went to New York from Louisiana to pursue his passion of acting in the 1970’s. He drove his VW “Bug” to New York, went to the academy, auditioned and he was accepted into the American Academy of the Dramatic Arts. He later went to Hollywood, studied with Wynn Handman at the Actor’s Studio, and with Lee Strasberg. He went on to guest star and co-star in well-known Television productions in the 1970’s and 1980’s, such as playing Frank Adler in “The Incredible Hulk”, and also having roles in Television productions such as “The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo” and “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century”, as well as producing and directing award winning plays in Hollywood to the highest reviews.

The couple is hoping to have an outpouring of love and compassion from the community. Deborah has original artwork available for purchase viewable on her website, www.thepainterofbeauty.com. Her tagline is “The Painter of Beauty”, followed by her truthful adage “In the Presence of Love…there are Miracles™”. Replication of her art in the form of giclees will be made available through the GoFundMe campaign as a thank you for those who participate. Dean despite his illness, is still sharing his talent with the world and serving as a source of inspiration, as his books will eventually be available as well as gifts regarding various donation levels from the fundraiser. The books may also be purchased on the website of wife, Deborah Brooks. Dean’s books include “The Magical Journey of Malaika Putti” - “The Last Spenta Angel”©; “The Spenta Angel Collection’©; “Return of the Magi©”, and “The Gift Forgotten©”.

According to a friend of Dean and Deborah, whose commentary in full appears on the GoFundMe page, "Dean is the kindest, gentlest, most positive person I know. To my amazement, he continues to smile, be jovial, look on the bright side, and search for the silver lining. Dean is extremely lucky to have a spouse who is just as forward looking, positive and encouraging as he is."
