MyRonkonkoma.com Hosted a Meeting Where Residents Created a Lake Ronkonkoma Advisory Committee: Restore Lake Ronkonkoma 2016

Islip, Smithtown, Brookhaven and Suffolk County recently signed a Lake Ronkonkoma intermunicipal agreement to preserve and protect Lake Ronkonkoma. The residents have created their own committee which can work with the political leaders so that a strong channel of communication is open.

Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, February 24, 2016 --(PR.com)-- My Ronkonkoma - Ronkonkoma's News Home Page hosted a group meeting of residents met last Saturday 2/20/16 and formed a committee called Restore Lake Ronkonkoma 2016. Residents are demanding that simple first steps be taken this year to ensure progress is made each year looking forward.

Residents from Greater Ronkonkoma came down to the lake Saturday at 9 am to support the Revitalization of Lake Ronkonkoma. There are documents from 1980 that were brought down to the meeting outlining Suffolk County improvement plans that to this day have still not been done. "You can't walk anywhere without it being a dangerous obstacle course. Walls are caving in, the brush has killed all the vegetation and the area is totally blighted," said Neil Rosenberg, a long time local resident while participating in this walk.

Since last week, over 10,000 area residents participated on the Facebook posts of My Ronkonkoma. "It is a very important subject for this area. All our adult lives, we’ve been waiting for something to happen and it hasn’t. 2016 will be different," said Larry Farrell Editor of My Ronkonkoma.
