New Book by T. Gordon Larsen Provides Prepping Tips for Ultimate Survival

Evangelical Christians have an important new resource with a new book by an experienced survivalist and prepper. Dog Ear Publishing reviews “Apocalypse Survival: Preparing for the Unthinkable,” which aims to prepare Christians for Jesus Christ’s second coming and the related challenges his immanent return is prophesied to bring upon believers in the End Times.

Las Vegas, NV, February 26, 2016 --(PR.com)-- As the cover of his new book aptly proclaims, Gordon Larsen’s life reads like a survival manual. At just age 9, he was responsible for his missionary family’s survival gear during treks trough the rainforests and savannas of the Congo and Gabon. In such surroundings, survival skills were essential as the family learned to adapt, improvise, and store fuel and food. Situational awareness was paramount, because equatorial Africa was the domain of apex predators in the mid-twentieth century. He shares his survival wisdom in a new book released by Dog Ear Publishing.

“Apocalypse Survival: Preparing for the Unthinkable” provides an Evangelical perspective on existential threats and long-term survival as the End Times approach. Many Christians believe they may need to endure at least some of the “Great Tribulation” prophesied in the Bible, and Larsen uses the breadth of his experience and studies to cover doctrinal, moral and ethical issues believers should explore ahead of time. For example, is it morally right to use lethal force to defend innocent life? Does charity really “begin at home?” How can believers develop a survival strategy to live their lives by biblical principles, while avoiding the image and mark of the Beast?

From examining broad concepts such as dealing with an oppressive and intrusive government, to considering more practical issues such as bartering, coping with health emergencies and providing basic security for family and friends, the book provides a solid framework for honest discussion about all aspects of survival. And just as important as preparing for physical survival, Larsen writes, is firmly establishing one’s faith and relationship with Jesus Christ to prepare for spending eternity “in the presence of God, which is the ‘Ultimate Survival’ preparation.”

Author T. Gordon Larsen has worked and traveled in more than 40 countries, learning and practicing survival skills along the way. He served 25 years of active and reserve duty as a U.S. Air Force pilot, including flying nearly 150 combat missions in Vietnam, and retired as a lieutenant colonel. Larsen has also served as a medical practice executive, and he spent 10 years working with Third World hospitals and clinics as an international relief program manager and in leading medical teams on missions along the “road less traveled” in remote and underserved areas.
