“The Buttes” is honored with the 2015 Community Service Leader of the Year Award for the State of Arizona for the Second Consecutive Year

Phoenix, AZ, March 03, 2016 --(PR.com)-- For the second straight year and in unprecedented fashion, Phoenix Marriott Tempe at The Buttes hotel in Tempe, Ariz., has been honored with the 2015 Community Service Leader of the Year Award for the State of Arizona, as selected by the Arizona Lodging and Tourism Association (AZLTA). Honored at the recent AZLTA Stars of the Industry event, the hotel is also a national nominee for the same award from the American Lodging and Tourism Association (ALTA).

In 2014, Phoenix Marriott Tempe at The Buttes began a hotel-wide program, Give | Local – A Community Giving Initiative, garnering the attention of guests, clients, Marriott International, and the industry as a platform for an organized, focused and impactful giving initiative, which may be duplicated at other hotels across the country.

Highlights of Phoenix Marriott Tempe at The Buttes 2015 community service initiatives included: 480 volunteer hours to the Ronald McDonald House “Cook Dinner” program; 610 volunteer hours “Cooking for a Cause” and 200 volunteer hours with Habitat for Humanity. Over and above this effort, the hotel directly raised $20,000 for its beneficiaries and supported the effort to raise over $300,000 for local beneficiaries in conjunction with area partners and programs.

As corporate social responsibility gains momentum, Phoenix Marriott Tempe at The Buttes is inviting area corporate neighbors such as Aetna, Intel, General Electric, State Farm and Wells Fargo are being invited to align their charitable and community missions.
