500 Startups and Y-Combinator Are the Top Seed Investors of 2015: Tracxn

San Francisco, CA, March 05, 2016 --(PR.com)-- According to a recently released infographic from Tracxn, the world's largest startup research platform, 500 Startups and Y-Combinator have emerged as the top Seed Investors of 2015. The infographic takes a look at the top 15 Seed Investors who have participated in the most seed rounds during the year. 500 Startups tops the list, having participated in 59 deals, followed by Y Combinator, at 40 deals. TechStars and Rothenberg ventures capture the third and fourth place respectively, followed by Boost VC.

The infographic also indicates that 500 Startups was the most active in the Consumer Area. Rothenberg Ventures has shown the most interest in the Technology space, especially through its River program, wherein the fund invests in Virtual Reality Startups at an early stage.

Besides finding the top investors, Tracxn’s report also looks closely into the various Business Segments which have seen the most activity from the Top 15 Seed Investors. The Consumer Segment stands tall in this regard seeing a total of 88 deals from these 15 investors, with 500 Startups and YCombinator being the segments most active funds. The Technology sector was the next most popular segment with Rothenberg Ventures and Boost VC looking closely at the space as their hunting grounds.
