Fort Zumwalt School District Buys Former College

St. Louis' Hilliker Corporation assists both buyer and seller with transaction.

St. Charles, MO, March 05, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Hilliker Corporation, a St. Louis owned and managed commercial real estate company, recently assisted a local school district in purchasing a home for its new early childhood center.

Fort Zumwalt, the largest school district in St. Charles County, recently purchased a 71,000-square-foot property located at 7874-7888 Veterans Memorial Parkway in St. Peters for $7 million. The building, which sits on nearly nine acres, was the original home of Sanford-Brown College and Le Cordon Bleu College. Renovations will begin in Dec., 2016 with an expected move in date of Aug., 2017 for the new school year.

The early childhood center will serve approximately 800 children ages three to five years of age, including special education students. The building will undergo renovations ranging from $4 to $6 million. The project is possible with funds from a $25 million bond issue passed in April, 2015. Operations’ expenses for the new early childhood center are 100% fully reimbursed through state and federal funding. Fort Zumwalt is headquartered at 555 E. Terra Lane in O’Fallon, Mo. The district serves the cities of O’Fallon, St. Peters, Dardenne Prairie, Saint Paul, and portions of Wentzville.
