Miami's Exclusive Roller Derby League Builds on the Success of Its Roller Derby 101 Class for New Skaters

Building on the tremendous success of their February “Roller Derby 101 Class” Miami’s Vice City Rollers, the city’s first and only roller derby league, continues its Roller Derby 101 Bootcamp for women and men 18 and over who want to participate in the competitive and fast-paced sport.

Miami, FL, March 13, 2016 --(PR.com)-- When: 4-Week Intensive class starts 4/3; 7/10; and 10/2 at 5:30 p.m.

Where: Suniland Hockey Rink, 9300 Coral Reef Drive, Miami, FL 33151

Enrollment in RD101 cost $50 for the 4-week course. Each registered skater will be able to attend practices twice a week (Wednesday and Sunday from 6:30-8:30 pm). They will also receive a “derby starter kit,” which will provide all the information they need to start competing in this exciting sport. At the end of the 4 weeks, skaters will be tested on skills that they learned in the course, with the potential to move up to a more advanced class. Upon passing both courses, the skater will become a member of the league and receive a MVCR shirt with their name on it.

Requirements:

18 or older

Gear: quad skates, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, mouth guard & helmet (MVCR has some skates, pads and helmets available to borrow on a first come, first serve basis).

Willingness to learn

Personal medical insurance strongly recommended
