New Orleans, LA, April 03, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Today the Motion Control & Motor Association (MCMA), the global trade association for the motion control and motor industry, announced it will hold its annual MCMA Technical Conference (TechCon) in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana on October 11-13, 2016. More than 30 technical sessions will be presented in three distinct tracks on motors and related technologies, motion control and drives technologies, and network communication technologies. MCMA TechCon attendees can get technical training in the areas of motion control technologies, drives, controls, electric motors, software, network communication and related technologies to help their companies increase efficiency and productivity. Attendees also have access to a table top exhibition of industry suppliers and networking events. Continuing education credits for participants are available.

New to the MCMA TechCon this year is the addition of MCMA’s Certified Motion Control Professional training courses. “We’re excited to bring our Motion Control Professional Certification program to the MCMA TechCon,” said John Payne, Vice President of Yaskawa America’s Motion Division and MCMA Board Chair. MCMA spent the last two years developing the curriculum and certification program. There are seven courses in three segments: Introduction to Motion Control Mechanisms; Introduction to Motors and Amplifiers; and Introduction to Motion Controllers, Programming, and System Design. “The industry needed a high quality basic motion control training program and we think that end-users and industry professionals alike will benefit from it.”

The TechCon event also provides attendees with the opportunity to meet face-to-face with industry suppliers during the table top exhibition, as well as in networking events for participants. Exhibitors provide a hands-on experience of the latest motor and motion control products and technologies. “The MCMA TechCon gives attendees the opportunity to meet with the industry’s leading suppliers, consultants and engineers,” said Matt Hanson, VP Product Development at Bison Gear & Engineering and MCMA Board member. “When you combine the technical paper presentations, the Certified Motion Control Professional training courses and the table top exhibits, you get a great return on investment.”

Attendees typically include users of motion control and motor technologies, manufacturing engineers, control system integrators, design engineers, value-added distributors, and professionals in the motion control and motor industry.
