The Battlegrounds Seeking Volunteers for Mud Run

St. Louis obstacle course needs assistance with largest race ever in five-year history.

St. Louis, MO, April 08, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The Battlegrounds, St. Louis’ largest permanent mud run obstacle course, is looking for volunteers ages 16 and older for its May 21 race. Volunteers are needed for the 6 to 10:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. shifts. They receive free breakfast or lunch, a race t-shirt, and after-party access. Those who volunteer for a full day from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. will also earn free future race admission to The Battlegrounds.

More than 2,600 runners from 31 states will participate in either a 5k or five-mile mud run featuring over 30 military-themed obstacles. The Battlegrounds is located at 11008 Schreckengast Rd. in Wright City, Mo. next to Cedar Lake Cellars winery and event venue.

Proceeds and a canned food drive held at the mud run will benefit Operation Food Search, which was established in 1981 to address the growing problem of hunger in the St. Louis area. The organization helps feed and provide personal care items to more than 200,000 individuals every month through 325 community partner agencies. One third of the people served are children.

The Battlegrounds will work with Funds2Orgs.com to collect and donate racer’s shoes to those in developing nations with proceeds benefitting Operation Food Search.

All runners must be 18 years of age or older. The race costs $100 before April 29, $120 before May 20, and $140 day of race. Groups of five or more are highly encouraged to register. For more information, call (314) 569-3005 ext.114.
