Inti Raymi 2016 Tour and Tickets Now Open for Reservations

Cusco, Peru, April 18, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Entrance tickets and tours to the Inti Raymi (The Festival of the Sun) are now available online at http://intiraymiperu.com.

Peru’s Inti Raymi or Festival of the Sun is one of the top tourist attractions of the world. It is celebrated every year on the 24th of June where more than 200,000 people come together to witness the most beautiful re-enactment of the most important festival of the Inca Empire.

“The Inti Raymi is now the second largest festival on the South American continent,” said Magaly Delgado, owner of Madec Tours EIRL, a local travel agency in Peru who uses the intiraymiperu.com online reservation system to secure Inti Raymi reservations in advance.

The intiraymiperu.com website uses the infrastructure and technology of MachuPicchu.center, an online ticket agent for all Machu Picchu tourist needs such as entrance tickets, train tickets and tours.

The celebration of the “Inti Raymi” on June 24th, in honor of the Sun God, is made in the three historic and natural sceneries:

The first stage takes place at the “Qurikancha” or the temple of the Sun of the Incas; the most important temple in the Inca Empire. The celebration begins at 9:00 a.m. and last for 45 minutes.

The second stage is at The “Plaza de Armas” or the main square; in the time of the Incas this vast square was used for important ceremonies, which took place entirely in the great “ushnu” or ceremonial platform. The ceremony here begins at 11:00 a.m. and ends one hour later.

The third and most important stage is at the “Saksaywaman” which is a citadel on the northern outskirts of the city of Cusco, the historic capital of the Inca Empire. The name is in the ancient language used by the Incas (Quechua) which translated into Spanish means “satisfied falcon.” Here the ceremony begins at 13:30 p.m. and lasts for one and half hours.

The full tour includes all of the stages of the Inti Raymi with exclusive seating at the main event in Sacsayhuaman.
