Northbrook, IL, April 16, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The Wanda Vista is a 1.9 million square foot hotel and condo project in downtown Chicago. F.E. Moran Fire Protection, Northern Illinois (FPN) is excited to announce that they will be providing the fire protection for this building. FPN will provide over 18,000 sprinkler heads, 5 fire pumps, and a 30,000 gallon water tank for 95 floors. The project is set to start in June, 2016 and piping will begin January, 2017.

The Wanda Vista was designed by the first woman to do such a large high-rise, Jeanne Gang. She also was the architect behind Aqua, the third tallest building in the world to have been designed by a woman at 1,186 feet tall. It would rank right behind the 1,389-foot Trump International Hotel and Tower and the 1,451-foot Willis Tower. The building will feature 410 residences and a five-star hotel with 210 hotel rooms. In addition, a new street will be added to Chicago to accommodate the building. The street will be called North Upper Field Boulevard. It will be one block southwest from East Upper Wacker Drive and connect to an extension of East Upper Waterside Drive.

The project is backed by a Chinese real estate developer and Chicago’s Magellan Development Group.

Ken Votava, the Senior Sales and Project Executive heading this project said, “F.E. Moran Fire Protection is very excited to be selected to provide the fire protection for the project. This will be a great addition to our portfolio of high profile Buildings in Chicago, and allow us to showcase our abilities as the fire protection leader in Chicago.
