Lee County Bar Association Hosts Annual Law in the Mall on April 30

23rd annual community service event provides free legal advice for everyone.

Fort Myers, FL, April 20, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The Lee County Bar Association (LCBA) invites the public to attend Law in the Mall on Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Edison Mall in Dillards Courtyard. In its 23rd year, the annual event pairs volunteer attorneys with citizens to provide free legal advice, with no pre-qualifying or pre-registration necessary. In addition, the LCBA will present four free public seminars on important aspects of law.

Citizens with legal questions are encouraged to attend this community service event, where they can get help within any area of the law. In past years as many as 30 attorneys have donated their time and expertise and helped hundreds of Lee County residents with their legal issues. Attorneys will offer answers and direction on situations that fall within practice areas including divorce, probate, criminal law, bankruptcy, real estate, foreclosure and more. Citizens should bring any related paperwork.

The following free public seminars will be presented by volunteer attorneys: Bankruptcy – 10 a.m., Simple Wills and Estates – 11 a.m., Power of Attorney, Guardian Advocate cases and Guardianships – noon, and Family Law – 1 p.m.

Attorney Ryan O’Halloran serves as chairperson for the event. He said, “We are excited to be entering our 23rd year of Law in the Mall. It is a great opportunity for us to interact with people who may not otherwise have been able to get the legal advice they need.”

Law in the Mall kicks off this year’s Law Week, when the LCBA presents educational, social, community service and awards events leading up to Law Day. Law Day celebrates the importance of the U.S. legal system and judicial branch. It was originally proposed by American Bar Association President Charles Rhyne, and officially established in 1958 by President Eisenhower’s proclamation. The entire Law Week lineup is available at leebar.org.

Attorneys who would like to participate in Law in the Mall should contact the Event Chair, Attorney Ryan O’Halloran, at (239) 334-7212 or ryan@ohalloranfamilylaw.com. The LCBA is grateful to Edison Mall for continuing to host this important event.
