)-- Storage Made Easy, the leading Enterprise File Share and Sync Fabric provider, today announced the release of CloudEdit, a new feature of their Enterprise Sync and Share product that provides a frictionless way for companies to enable their users to select documents from the web and easily edit them on a Mac or Windows Desktop.
The CloudEdit feature is supported with any of the 50+ connectors that SME provides to private and public storage including Amazon S3, OpenStack, S3 compatible clouds, WebDav, FTP, Google Drive, DropBox, and Office365.
Users can click to edit any type of document from almost any storage point directly from a federated web file interface and the document will open for editing on the users’ desktop using the associated file type. Once the user has finished editing CloudEdit will save the file back to the original storage point.
Jim Liddle, Storage Made Easy CEO said, “Enterprise companies, in fact all companies, use more than one storage point, be that on-premises or on-cloud. They need solutions for their users that just work and provide an easy frictionless experience. This is what the CloudEdit provides. Open a file from the web File Manager, edit it on the associated Application from your desktop and save it back to wherever it was loaded from. It’s painless for the user and it is painless for IT.”
All files edited using CloudEdit can be audited using SME’s built in Governance and Auditing features providing Companies a complete history of user interactions.
CloudEdit is a feature of the Storage Made Easy Enterprise File Share and Sync solution, that is available today for Enterprises, Service Providers, and Educational establishments.
About Storage Made Easy
The Storage Made Easy Enterprise File Share and Sync Fabric enables IT to regain control of "cloud sprawl", unifying private and public file sharing into a single, converged storage infrastructure that can easily be managed and be used to set governance and audit controls.
The SME solution offers a “blanket” that enterprises can privately apply to wrap around all their data: on premises, within a public cloud, or on a third party software vendors’ cloud (SharePoint or SalesForce for example). Customers use SME for security, encryption, audit, and control as well as to provide a data unification platform.
Storage Made Easy is the trading name of Vehera LTD who have sales offices in the UK, USA and Switzerland.
