"Meet the Breeds" Showcase to Highlight Super Ride XIV

The organizers of Super Ride XIV: International Festival of the Equestrian Arts are today announcing the inclusion of a "Meet the Breeds" showcase in the 2016 equine tournament.

Lindale, TX, May 06, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Building upon a concept successfully implemented by the world famous Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, the organizers of Super Ride XIV: International Festival of the Equestrian Arts are today announcing the inclusion of a 'Meet the Breeds' showcase in the 2016 equine tournament.

Super Ride XIV will be held June 14 – 18 at the Texas Rose Horse Park, near Lindale (TX).

Horse Owners, Breeders and Equine Associations from throughout Texas and the surrounding region are being invited to exhibit their purebred horses in Lindale - as part of Super Ride's effort to expose members of the general public to the wide variety of horse and pony breeds.

“In order for our sport to grow,” says Super Ride Executive Director Gary Bonner, “we must continually reach out to new audiences. This involves education at all levels. Our hope is that by introducing the public to the various breeds, in a friendly and relaxed environment, we will stimulate new interest in all facets of equestrian sport. This means more families coming to our shows, more people riding on a regular basis, more horses sold and positive economic benefits across the board – for breeders, tack shops, feed dealers, trainers, veterinarians, farriers, trailer manufacturers and many others.”

Horses and ponies participating in the 'Meet the Breeds' showcase will housed in a special barn – adjacent to the main competition arena. Members of the general public will be encouraged to visit the barn, ask questions and cheer for their favorites during a grand parade of the participating horses in the main arena during the Friday and Saturday evening performances.

Special awards will be given in the following categories:

- Most Popular Horse
- Best Turned Out Horse
- Best Decorated Stall
- Most Informative Handout

All participants will receive a special certificate of merit.

Persons wishing to participate in the 'Meet the Breeds' showcase at Super Ride XIV are asked to contact the Super Ride Organizing Committee via telephone (1-972-679-0770) or email (superridecomp@cs.com) prior to Friday, May 20th. Breed Associations wishing to have an informational booth at Super Ride XIV can do so at a substantial discount.

About Super Ride

Hosted by the City of Lindale, Super Ride XIV: International Festival of the Equestrian Arts will present championship level competitions and demonstrations focusing upon six colorful facets of team riding: Mounted Color Guard, Drill Team, Quadrille, Vaulting, Trick Riding and Escaramuza, a discipline steeped in the rich culture and history of Mexico.

Initially conceived as the U.S. national championship for mounted color guard units and drill teams, Super Ride has become a beloved annual fixture that brings together highly talented youth and adult teams for five days of intense, yet friendly, competitions.

Recognizing the universal nature of sport, understanding the need to broaden the scope of its marketing and fully supporting initiatives to expand equestrian sports acceptance and participation in all regions of the world, the organizers have elected to dramatically increase the visibility of the event through the addition of international competitions.

In 2014, vaulting and a (Dressage based) International Quadrille division were successfully added to the program. In 2015, trick riding was introduced.
