Event Synopsis:

The Sunshine Act, passed under a healthcare reform bill in March 2010, requires manufacturers of drugs and medical devices to report definite payments and items of value given to the physicians and teaching hospitals, to improve financial transparency between physicians and the industry. This year, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has updated the Open Payments data and included updates from disputes and other data corrections. This update will be done at least once a year and would affect all types of payments or transfers of value to physicians, teaching hospitals, and physician ownership and investment interests.

In a two-hour live Webcast, a notable panel of thought leaders and professionals assembled by The Knowledge Group will provide the audience with an in-depth discussion of the fundamentals as well as updates of the reporting requirements for the standardized Sunshine Act. Speakers will also offer their expert thoughts and opinions with regard to this significant topic.

Key topics include:
· Purpose of Sunshine Act
· Standardizing Sunshine Act
· Reporting Requirements under the Standardized Sunshine Act
· Regulatory Compliance
· Exclusions to the Sunshine Act
