Employee Benefits Attorney Bryan Brum will Present at 8th Annual Employer Healthcare & Benefits Congress

Palm Beach Gardens, FL, May 20, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Bryan Brum, Attorney, Employee Benefits, Legal Department for United Parcel Service (UPS) will speak at 8th Annual Employer Healthcare & Benefits Congress from September 25 – 28, in Washington D.C. The event will host up to 2,500 professionals from a range of industries including human resources, insurance agents, wellness professionals and more from across the world. Attendees will gather in the nation’s capital for three days of networking and educational sessions ensuring they are up to date on the latest news and trends in the industry.

Mr. Brum’s session this year is entitled “ACA Practical Considerations & Litigation Avoidance” which he will co-host with James R. Napoli, Partner, Seyfarth Shaw LLP. The session will help struggling employers comply with the rules and regulations of the Affordable Care Act, safeguarding them from potential fees and fines. This session is also a required session for everyone working to receive their Certified Healthcare Reform Specialist® designation.

This is my third year participating in the EHBC,” said Brum. “I am very excited that I get to part of the Certified Healthcare Reform Specialist® designation again. It think it is crucial for all employers to take this new law seriously. This is now the law of the land and there is no excuse to not comply. Failure to do so will only result in costly fees that could have been avoided. Certifying that you are knowledgeable in the rules and regulations of the ACA is the first step to preventing these costs.”

Bryan has been with UPS for 24 years, and is responsible for all legal matters pertaining to their healthcare benefits. In 2014, he worked on transferring coverage for 160,000 union employees from the UPS sponsored plan to Teamster sponsored multi-employer health and welfare trusts. Previously, he worked on the implementation of a private exchange effective for UPS’s post-65 union-free retiree medical benefits, which transitioned retirees to a Medicare coordinator coverage model. Bryan is also responsible for legal support of the UPS Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3) corporation and the charitable arm of UPS.

He is also a Certified Public Accountant and prior to UPS worked in the Tax Division at Arthur Andersen. Bryan is a long-time volunteer with Special Olympics and previously served as Chairman of the Board of Georgia Special Olympics.
