Newly Launched E-Commerce Venture "Tomboy Toes" Releases Men’s Style Dress Shoes in Women’s Sizes

Newly launched e-commerce venture Tomboy Toes announced the opening of its online store selling men's style dress shoes in sizes intended to fit women and people with smaller feet.

Toronto, Canada, May 21, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Newly founded company Tomboy Toes announced today the opening of its online store, www.tomboytoes.com, and its release of a line of dress shoes designed to look like men’s formal shoes but fit women’s feet. The company is a one-woman bootstrapped startup by Lauren Craig, a Canadian woman with half a decade of experience as a marketing professional, much of which was gained in other startup companies ranging from machine learning technology to subscription box e-commerce models. The company launches with three initial product lines ranging from $65 - $75 USD, with the intention of eventually expanding to offer higher-end lines in the $120 - $200 USD range.

“There was a niche in the market that was lacking any real solution,” says Craig of the business venture. “Women who prefer more masculine styles often simply shop in the men’s section, but when it comes to higher-end items like business attire, the fit of menswear is never quite right on a feminine body. Shoes in particular are impossible to find, if you’re a woman who really just wants a man’s shoe. The Tomboy Toes goal is to address that unfulfilled need and offer women who prefer masculine styles the opportunity to find a pair of shoes that both fit and make them feel good about their appearance.”

Tomboy Toes opened for business on its online store and began making sales on March 31st. Although the company is headquartered in Toronto, its fulfilment operations are centered in South Carolina, USA, to allow for fast and cost-effective shipping to American customers, which it expects will be its main market.
