FOB Prices for Cement Increase, Clinker Prices Remain Flat in Mediterranean Basin

Greenwich, CT, May 25, 2016 --(PR.com)-- FOB prices for ordinary Portland cement bulk register a 6.4 percent increase, according to the CW Research’s May update to Mediterranean Basin cement and clinker prompt delivery cargo price assessment. On the other hand, FOB prices for bulk ordinary clinker trended flatly at USD 30.8 per ton.

The May update highlights a double digit decline in cement import prices in Algeria. “Algeria will soon be oversupplied with cement, but clinker shipments from Greece, Turkey, Spain and Italy will continue in the short-term,” explains Raluca Cercel, Consulting Analyst with the CW Group’s European team.
