Evergreen Team Concepts and Whatcom County Tourism Team-Up to Prepare Local Businesses for 2010 Winter Olympics

Although the 2010 Winter Olympics will be in Vancouver, local businesses in the Pacific Northwest are readying themselves for the approaching boom in business. Evergreen Team Concepts and Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism have partnered on a program to help local businesses prepare to receive more than one million international tourists expected to converge on the area.

Bellingham, WA, January 11, 2008 --(PR.com)-- With the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver rapidly approaching, the team development and training company Evergreen Team Concepts and Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism are linking up to create the “BWCT 2010 Service Initiative” which will help local businesses ready for the boost in local commerce and media exposure predicted to accompany the games.

Less than 60 miles across the border from Vancouver, Bellingham and Whatcom County are ideally situated to take advantage of commercial traffic from the Winter Olympics, scheduled for February 2010, and the Paralympics, just a month later in March.

CEO and Founder of Evergreen Team Concepts, Henry Beeland, knows the winter events have the potential to enhance the area’s attractiveness as a tourist destination, “If Northwest Washington is prepared to reach out to these visitors and meet their unique needs, this region can reap the benefits of increased tourism for years to come.”

Four workshops will be held per year in 2008 and 2009. Participating businesses will undergo extensive training and preparation in service management, marketing, security, image management, press communications, green business strategies, and more. Each of the three-hour workshops will be held quarterly at Evergreen Team Concepts’ facility in Bellingham.

Annual memberships in the BWCT 2010 Service Initiative cost $149 per year or $249 for two years. Member businesses may participate in up to four workshops, up to four audio and/or web conferences by national business experts each year, and quarterly web forums. Members also will receive a quarterly e-newsletter covering Winter Olympics-related and business-interest topics, in which they receive two free marketing ads per year. A complete list of member benefits will be available mid-January at Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism’s homepage.

Registration will begin mid-January 2008. For more information on the BWCT 2010 Winter Service Initiative, call BWCT at 800-487-2032.
