KP3 Sweets, a Maryland-Based Sweet Shop, Runs Fundraiser for Atlanta-Based Breast Cancer Nonprofit, Rays of Hope Foundation

Fort Meade, MD, June 03, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Nikki Pruett, owner of KP3 Sweets, a family owned and operated sweet shop, is holding a fundraiser from June 1st to June 15th to support her sister, Tenora Finley, and her breast cancer foundation, Rays of Hope Foundation (ROH). Fifty percent of all proceeds from KP3’s will go towards ROH’s efforts to support single mothers with breast cancer as they go through the process of recovery.

According to Tenora Finley, founder of ROH, she was extremely touched that her sister decided to help raise money and awareness in such a big way. “Nikki is just starting out and to donate fifty percent of her profits, especially at this point of time is beyond generous,” Finley said. “I was overjoyed and grateful that she would support me and ROH especially since she was there for me every step of the way through this second round of treatment.”

Finley, a single-mom was initially diagnosed in 2011 and later founded the nonprofit in order to fill the needs of women going through treatment who required additional help that a spouse or partner might typically provide.

Through her own experiences, she realized that assistance with childcare, transportation to-and-from treatment and meal preparation were paramount in counteracting the stress related to healing. This become even more apparent back in September 2015 when she was again diagnosed with breast cancer. “There are women out there who do not have the support that I have, I’m not sure how I would have gotten through the last few months without my friends and family,” Finley said. “Nikki of course has been my long distance emotional anchor. Which only makes this particular gesture, even more meaningful.”

Nikki Pruett owner and founder of KP3 Sweet’s was eager to give her online patrons the opportunity to support ROH. “Giving back is second nature. I'm always looking for opportunities to pay it forward and I'm thankful that I can support my sister and her organization” said Pruett. “Unfortunately this is an epidemic that can, has, and will affect so many of us.”

Since ROH’s founding in 2014, over sixty thousand single mothers have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Learn more about how to help at http://raysofhopefoundation.net/ or make a purchase towards the fundraiser by visiting http://www.kp3sweets.com/.
