Three Law Students Gain on the Job Training This Summer at Henderson Franklin

Fort Myers, FL, June 22, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A., is pleased to welcome three law students, Caleb Hinton, Alexander Howell and Dillon McColgan. They will supplement their law school experience by working as clerks at the firm during the summer.

As part of Henderson Franklin's Summer Associate Program, they will be exposed to a broad range of practice areas and will attend hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, arbitrations and meetings with clients. They will also perform research, assist in the drafting of pleadings, discovery and analyze various legal issues. Each summer associate is paired with a Henderson Franklin attorney mentor who assists the summer associate with the transition from law student to lawyer.

Hinton grew up in Dothan, Alabama and resides in Tallahassee. He will be entering his final year of law school at Florida State University College of Law, where he serves as Treasurer of the Estate Planning and Elder Law Society. Hinton received his undergraduate degree in Criminology (magna cum laude) from Florida State in 2013. Hinton previously worked at Regions Financial in Tallahassee handling business and personal loans. When not working, Caleb enjoys anything outside, attending Florida State games and watching baseball.

Howell grew up in Kingston, Jamaica and now resides in St. Petersburg, Florida, with his wife and son. Howell will be entering his final year of law school at Stetson University College of Law. Howell received his undergraduate degree in finance from Warner University in 2013, where he was ranked sixth in the nation for the 600 meter in the 2011-2012 season of track. At Stetson, he served as Vice President of the Business Law Society, an organization for students interested in practicing corporate/business law, organizing networking opportunities for students to meet practitioners in this area of law. Howell also served as President of Stetson Law Parents, an organization for students who are parents can offer support and advice on how to balance parenthood and law school.

McColgan is a Southwest Florida native, graduating from Mariner High School in Cape Coral in 2009. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Central Florida in 2013 and is now entering his final year of law school at the University of Miami. This past semester he interned for the Honorable Judge Ivan Fernandez at the Third District Court of Appeal and earned honors for his involvement in the University of Miami’s Litigation Skills program.
