First Kingdom Big Data & Analytics Summit Lauded a Great Success by 140 Plus Attendees

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, June 23, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The first Kingdom Big Data & Analytics Summit was brought to an end on 27th April in Riyadh, having hosted more than 140 registered delegates, with widespread praise from speakers and audience members for the intellectual quality of the presentations and the high-level networking opportunities provided.

The Kingdom Big Data & Analytics Summit was held at Riyadh’s Marriott Hotel during 26th & 27th April. Delegates learned about scores of important use cases detailing Big Data impact and successes, plus, of equal importance, drew vital lessons from local and international failures. Practical illustrations were provided by experienced data scientists from international and regional government, telecoms, IT, banking, energy, healthcare and utilities sectors.

All presenters were recognised thought-leaders: senior specialists from Yesser - eGovernment Authority, Saudi Commission for Tourism & National Heritage (SCTH), STC, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), MAADEN, DU Telecoms, Dubai Health Authority, Bahri, Halliburton USA, Professional Petroleum Data Management (PPDM) Association, Lenovo, SAS, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and others.

Feedback

Attendees offered glowing reviews of the event following the conclusion of proceedings, with Mohammed Al Qahtani, Deputy Director of IT, KSA Ministry of Interior, commenting: “It was a professional event. I was very surprised by the quality and the diversity of knowledge, especially in the private and public sectors. We gained a lot of information and knowledge. Our objectives were absolutely met and I look forward to more events organised by Peer Review.”

Dr Osama Elhassan, Head of E-Health, Dubai Health Authority and Vice Chair of Emirates Health Informatics Society was equally impressed: “Very innovative! I very much liked the event, it really addresses the key pain points we face when it comes to putting policies and frame works for the projects. The event was well organised and the calibre of speakers and attendees was very high.”

Another attendee, Majed Al-Shangiti, Director IT Strategic Department, Maaden, the Saudi Arabian mining company, shared his thoughts on the summit: “I’m amazed at the quality of the presenters and very importantly the use cases. I recommend that the summit by itself has a vision for a number of years to come so it innovates itself. An event not to be missed!”

The rest of those in attendance gave similarly positive recommendations for the summit, which is set to be held annually, perhaps even bi-annually in Riyadh. Talks are ongoing, however there is a Masterclass to be held at the end of August.

Participants were quizzed about the conference at the end of the event
- 99% attendees ranked the workshop as Excellent
- 98% were very amazed with course presenters
- 99% very satisfied with the course content
- 97% very satisfied with the value of the information presented

Forthcoming Workshop

Big Data & Data Science Masterclass: 31st August - 1st Sept 2016, Riyadh
The workshop will give those in attendance the opportunity to learn from experts who have successfully implemented Big Data strategies in top companies, and includes the chance to discover the latest in data technology, learning from case studies highlighting good examples of how Big Data can impact on businesses, and those where things didn’t go quite so well. There will be a hands-on demonstrational element to the workshop, which will provide invaluable engagement to further enhance the understanding of those present.
