Coalition in Fort Harrison Brings Charities Together for Common Purpose

Many gathered in the Fort Harrison for the Charity Coalition Luncheon, where they can network and learn something they might have not known.

Clearwater, FL, July 02, 2016 --(PR.com)-- On Wednesday, June 29th, 95 guests from 40 charities and non-profits came together in the Fort Harrison’s Crystal Ballroom for the Church of Scientology’s bi-monthly Charity Coalition.

They gathered that afternoon for a luncheon to network and learn something they might not have previously known. The Charity Coalitions feature a spotlight charity to explain what they do, as well as an educational guest speaker.

Before the featured speakers took the podium, Lisa Mansell, the Public Affairs Director for the Church of Scientology in Clearwater, invited all non-profits and charities to hold their own events in the Fort Harrison; showing photos of the church’s partnership with local charities for their fundraising and special events.

The featured charity was the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation. Mr. Steve Weinberger, CEO, talked about how the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation is bringing educational, cultural and an economic impact to the Tampa Bay Area. The Jazz Holiday originally started as a gimmick to keep European travelers here in town. However, the Holiday now produces events and educational opportunities year-round.

The educational speaker was Ms. Jewel McKeon from P3 Agency, a PR and marketing agency. Ms. McKeon spoke about communicating the proper message to the right people to increase funds, volunteers and visibility.

“We care about what happens in the community,” said Lisa Mansell, Public Affairs Director for the Church of Scientology in Clearwater, “That’s why we like to support the charities and non-profit organizations that want to help; their success is important to us.”

The guests enjoyed the luncheon and were interested to learn that they could hold their own events in the Fort Harrison; in its Auditorium for larger events and shows, or in its Crystal Ballroom for brunches and luncheons.

“What an incredible event,” said Claudia, a luncheon guest, “Every time I come to these events, they just get better and better. Not only with the quality of the space, but I also learn more and more from the guest speakers. I will definitely continue coming to the Charity Coalition events!”
