New Service to Benefit Nonprofit Boards of Directors

Florida training and consulting company, Phil-Com, offers self-assessments for nonprofit Boards of Directors.

Bradenton, FL, July 03, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Phil-Com, a Florida-based consulting and training company that works with nonprofits and small businesses, debuts its new online Board of Directors Self-Assessment.

Nonprofit Boards of Directors are charged with governance and fiscal oversight of communities’ charitable organizations. But it can be difficult to pull together a group of volunteers and professionals and expect that they will work seamlessly together to act in an organization’s best interests.

Phil-Com’s new Board of Directors Self-Assessment tool helps nonprofit boards to determine how they are currently performing and to identify areas for potential improvement.

“Nonprofit Boards of Directors are responsible for overseeing so many moving parts of a nonprofit organization - everything from strategic direction to fiscal responsibility to community relations,” said Tracy Vanderneck, Phil-Com President. “Taking the time to evaluate the board’s actions to see if it is functioning optimally not only benefits the nonprofit, but can help give the individual members more confidence about their own role on the board.”

Phil-Com will provide the directors with the online assessment, then compile the results and conduct a follow-up Board of Directors Workshop. During the workshop, Phil-Com will share the assessment results and work with the directors to identify results-based opportunities for growth in such areas as policy, financial oversight, board organization, community representation, and strategic planning.
