ALTLED Anti-Explosive Lamps Aim to Secure All of the Unnoticed Extreme Working Environment

To minimize the probability of explosion accidents occurring, ALTLED released Anti-Explosion Lamps, which have earned ATEX/IECEx certifications.

Taipei, Taiwan, July 16, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Millions of U.S. citizens are suffering from industrial causes every year. According to United States Department of Labor, closely 5 thousands fatal workplace injuries and nearly 3 million nonfatal ones happened in the year of 2014. Being one the leading LED manufacturer, ALT strongly feels the desire and responsibility to contribute in industrial security and guarantee technicians’ safety. ALT believes that taking the initiative will bring up the awareness of the security of labor’s working environment.

In order to do so, ALT first follows the systems, which developed by world authorities and scholars to analyze and classify the causes of explosion, so did the other regulations for specific electrical equipment. The three essential elements that cause explosion are ignition source, material, and oxidizer. To avoid it, at least one of the elements should be removed. Therefore, ALT set up this principle as the top priority to design its industrial lights to prevent any explosion.

To rate explosion proof levels, the researchers had to define the hazardous locations. In North America, the “Class, Division” System is applied, whereas in other parts of the world, the “Zone” System is used. According to the hazardous probability, the Zone System divides into - Zone 0, 1 and 2. The types of hazardous material are categorized as Ga, Gb and Gc.

Locations are subdivided into Groups of IIA, IIB and IIC, based on the explosive properties of materials. Last, the minimum temperature of a surface at which the explosive atmosphere ignites is broke down into T1 to T6. Such detailed classifications are setup to avoid potential threats and assist workers to choose how to protect themselves in various industries.

To secure workers’ every inch, ALT has invested enormous amount of company revenue on research & development. In the end of 2015, ALT’s Anti-Explosive industrial Lamps are certified by the top authoritative organization, ATEX & IEC. The lamp had gone through numerous examinations, which ensure inner lamp explosion will never spread or affect outside environment. Patented dissipation design navigates and maximizes the ability of radiating the heat, so as to lower the lamp temperature and elongate the lifespan.

Including materials, manufacturing process, quality control procedures, shipping and etc, all details must be issued for a series of review. Additionally, ATEX designates a technician annually to factories to insure whether the SOP fulfills its safety requirements or the regulations are entirely reinforced. The criteria to earn ATEX / IECEx certification are rigorous that only few LED manufacturers have received this honor.

ALT's General Manager Baly Lo stated in an interview, "Reaching these (ATEX / IECEx) standards is not an easy thing, but ALT chose to go beyond. Acting in good faith is what keeps ALT moving forward. We will continue providing premium LED lighting solutions to ensure users’ security and to reduce energy consumption at any cost so that people and our children can live in the safer, greener and better Earth."
