)-- Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI) of Hatfield, PA has received an updated special process certification, GT193, from GE Transportation Aviation. LTI is now certified for S-400 code AIXE, granting LTI the approval to perform Crack Propagation Measurement, also known as Fatigue Crack Growth Testing, for GE Transportation Aviation. The Laboratory is a leading provider of metal testing and material analysis services, key components of aerospace testing.
LTI’s performance in round robin and prior work with Fracture Technology Associates, has earned its S-400 code AIXE on May 30th, 2016. This represents another achievement for LTI in this advanced test method. LTI is now permitted to perform Crack Propagation Measurement directly for GE and manufacturers contracted to supply parts for GE Transportation Aviation products.
The relationship between GE transportation and LTI started in the 1980s with the GE Aircraft Engine approval. LTI was first granted approval by the GE Transportation Aviation S-400 program in 2001. Today, LTI provides GE with services spanning from mechanical testing to chemical analysis and metallography.
LTI has been approved for materials testing, nondestructive testing and calibration services by a number of leading aerospace companies. The test results, provided in certified reports, help clients meet industry regulatory requirements and ensure the quality production of aircraft and all their components.
Laboratory Testing Inc. is PRI Nadcap accredited for materials testing and nondestructive testing services. The lab is A2LA accredited in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 in calibration, dimensional inspection and materials testing services.
