Raleigh, NC, July 23, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Cameron Village has announced a Living History Project as part of the archive of the iconic Raleigh shopping center. A shopping destination since 1949, Cameron Village was the first shopping center in North Carolina. Through nearly seven decades, Cameron Village has become a Raleigh tradition. Family, cultural and personal milestones have occurred through the years. Now these stories and memories are catalogued and available on audio at the Cameron Village website, shopcameronvillage.com

"These reminiscences began to come to light as we prepared an event about a year and a half ago, that highlighted the 70s and 80s in the Village. Stories were shared with such enthusiasm, that we realized that these kind of remembrances were not limited to that one period," explained Pat Boyle, executive director of the Cameron Village Merchants Association. "As we planned our strategic marketing for the coming year, we included an outreach to our customers to solicit their special memories. We had a terrific response and received a variety of submissions."

These shared recollections are available on website. There are also instructions for individuals who want to contribute their story to the collection.
