Desirée Patno, NAWRB Founder and CEO, Selected as 2016 HousingWire Women of Influence

Irvine, CA, August 13, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The National Association of Women in Real Estate Businesses (NAWRB) is proud to announce that Founder and CEO, Desirée Patno, has been selected as a 2016 HousingWire Women of Influence.

Patno is one of only 43 women in the housing ecosystem honored with this award. This is the sixth year that HousingWire has recognized housing’s leading women who “demonstrate leadership that inspires those in their own companies, in their communities and in the industry at large.”

These women of influence succeed not only within their companies, but also extend their influence across the industry in the form of mentorship, volunteerism, and contributions to publications and conferences. Patno also received the HousingWire Women of Influence Award in 2012.

As the Founder and CEO of NAWRB and a leader for women in the housing ecosystem, Desirée Patno is the embodiment of a woman of influence. Having advocated the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI) since its inception in 2010, NAWRB travels across the country supporting and advocating for women in housing at diverse events, from industry-specific conferences to the recent White House United State of Women Summit.

“I am humbled and honored to receive the HousingWire Women of Influence Award for a second time,” Patno stated. “With NAWRB’s advocacy and work on behalf of women in the housing ecosystem, the most important thing is creating true change for tomorrow’s women entrepreneurs. Receiving this kind of recognition reinforces the fact that we are conducting important work for our industry and inspires our mission to raise the awareness of women’s diversity and inclusion and create professional parity between women and men.”

In 2015, with the mission to increase C-suite women and supplier diversity, NAWRB officially launched NAWRB’s Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Council (NDILC), bringing women to the forefront with accountability and results. NAWRB also introduced the Women’s Homeownership Initiative (WHI) this year, striving to increase women’s homeownership throughout the nation and decrease women’s poverty by cementing their personal and professional strides.

Most recently, NAWRB created the Women’s Global Resource Center providing a women’s depository for vendors and clients to grow their diverse spend and increase women’s employment at all levels.

The 2016 NAWRB Women’s Diversity and Inclusion Conference, August 30th-31st at the Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa, features pivotal women's homeownership, Microsoft training and matchmaking one-on-one business opportunities with the leaders of the housing ecosystem. Register today.
