Brooklyn, NY, August 17, 2016 --(PR.com
)-- I AM ART NYC, a combination of various forms of artistic expression showcased on a single platform, is set to make its world premiere from October 1 – 2 in New York City's hippest borough, Brooklyn, at Industry City, considered one of Brooklyn's most dynamic and eclectic industrial venues.
The two-day festival will be a celebration of urban and artistic culture for the community, art lovers, and families. With supporters like Microsoft and Manhattan Beer Distributors, I AM ART NYC will feature an unprecedented artisan showcase of some of the most notable artist in urban art from around the world.
Renowned Dorian Grey Gallery owner, Chris Pusey and Jumoke Mendez, the founder of Athletes for Arts, will curate the art. In partnership with Brooklyn Community Services (whose mission is to empower at-risk children, youth and families, and adults with mental illness or developmental disabilities to overcome the obstacles they face), IAMART NYC seeks to celebrate the strength of the human spirit through various forms of art. It is because of their shared belief and partnership that the Youth Artisan Award was created to honor the endless artistic gifts of the youth in New York City. IAMART NYC partnered with NYC Public Schools, inviting artists from grades K-8 to enter two-dimensional artwork such as print, painting, photography or drawings for the title of IAMART NYC 2016 Youth Artisan of the Year.
