Laboratory Testing Inc. Participates in Third Feed My Starving Children Event

Volunteers from LTI’s material testing and calibration labs took part in an event on October 1 to hand package nutritious MannaPack meals for starving children around the world. The MannaPack ingredients, including vitamins and minerals, are specifically designed to reverse malnourishment. Similar events take place across the country and depend on volunteers and donations.

Hatfield, PA, October 13, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI) of Hatfield, PA, participated in the Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) Corporate Challenge MobilePack Event at Delaware Valley University on Saturday, October 1, 2016. The material testing and calibration lab sent four teams of volunteers to hand package nutritious MannaPack meals specifically designed to reverse malnourishment in starving children around the world. Volunteers from many local companies and organizations joined Laboratory Testing during the event to work towards the goal of packing 500,000 meals to feed 1,370 starving children for one year. LTI’s volunteers enjoyed working together in a positive, energetic and team-focused environment to help feed children and save lives.

Feed My Starving Children, a non-profit organization founded in 1987, developed effective and nutritious meal formulas for malnourished children around the world. The three meal formulas are packed with soy protein, dried vegetables and 20 vitamins and minerals – everything needed for a malnourished child to recover and begin to thrive. Once hand-packed by volunteers, the meals are distributed to partners in 70 countries around the world. These partners, in turn, share the food with many other smaller organizations such as schools, orphanages, medical clinics and feeding programs.

This was Laboratory Testing Inc.’s third time participating in the FMSC event at Delaware Valley University, including last year and 2014. This location is just one of the 226 MobilePack event sites in 35 states, collectively packing nearly 65 million meals. In 2015, FMSC and over one million volunteers joined together to produce 272,851,680 meals while serving 745,496 children daily.
