Operation Food Search Holds "Fruit From the Vine" Fundraiser

St. Louis, MO, October 13, 2016 --(PR.com)-- St. Louis local hunger relief leader Operation Food Search (OFS) has joined Pinnacle Imports, Sauce Magazine plus more than 50 area restaurants and retailers for its “Fruit From the Vine” wine fundraiser now through Dec. 31, 2016.

Restaurants, wine shops and grocery stores are featuring one or more than 20 select OFS wines. When customers purchase one of these wines by the glass, bottle or case from participating partners, a portion of the sales will be donated to OFS to help heal the hurt of hunger.

Founded in 1999, Pinnacle Imports is a St. Louis family-owned and operated wholesale distributor of fine wine and spirits. “We are excited to work with Operation Food Search once again to combat area hunger,” said Pinnacle Imports’ co-owners Liz Kniep Engelsmann and Bill Kniep. “This is a wonderful opportunity for people to support the community while enjoying quality wine, and we look forward to teaming up with area partners who are helping make a difference in so many lives.”

“We appreciate the support of both Pinnacle Imports and Sauce Magazine for the second consecutive year,” said Operation Food Search’s executive director Sunny Schaefer. “Their generosity, along with our growing alliance of restaurants and retailers, is what makes our job of eliminating hunger for the region a more achievable goal.”

Operation Food Search (OFS) is a leader in hunger relief, nutrition education, and advocacy. Founded in 1981, the organization helps feed and provide personal care items monthly to more than 200,000 individuals – one-third of which are children – who struggle with hunger and food insecurity. OFS distributes more than $35 million worth of food and necessities to a network of 330 community partners in 31 Missouri and Illinois counties, as well as in the city of St. Louis.

Last year more than $25,000 was raised for a similar campaign called “Cheers to 35 Years.”
