JIDA Leadership Briefings at EOD/IED & Countermine Symposium

DSI's EOD/IED & Countermine Symposium is the only whole-of-Government IED event bringing together DoD, DHS, Federal Agencies & local/civil bomb technicians. The 2016 EOD/IED & Countermine Symposium will bring together the mission relevant representatives in our neutral “townhall” forum in order to focus on current and future C-IED/EOD initiatives that support battlefield operations, homeland defense, and peacekeeping operations.

Arlington, VA, October 14, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Defense Strategies Institute is pleased to announce the 4th Annual EOD/IED & Countermine Symposium, occurring on November 7-8, 2016.

As improvised explosives remain a constant threat to both OCONUS Military and Homeland Security operations, there must be strategic policy development with a keen focus on leveling the playing field between U.S. / Coalition forces and asymmetric enemies. This goal is dependent upon the ability to coordinate an all-of-nation approach to managing the malicious use of explosive devices, whether it be in the homeland or in an unconventional operating environment.

As the U.S. continues to develop countermeasures for conducting IED operations, malevolent actors also work towards upgrading their explosive capabilities to undermine current United States’ defensive operations. It is imperative to provide global access to IED defeat technology, as well as developing advanced intelligence information sharing capabilities in order to identify, attack, and defeat the persistent global IED threat.

DSI’s 4th EOD/IED & Countermine Symposium will foster the dialogue to bridge the gaps, assess policies, plans, and programs for priorities between industry and the EOD/IED & Countermine community. With representation from the DoD, DHS, Federal Agencies & local/civil bomb technicians, along with numerous other participants, this Event will bring together a truly whole-of-government approach to IED defeat.

The 2016 Symposium will bring together the mission relevant representatives for two days of discussion, dialogue, and debate to help solve some of the current pressing challenges focusing on the theme of "Combating the Global & Homeland IED Threat Through Joint Operations."
