World of Cannabis: Bringing the Global Cannabis Community to the Palms Casino, Las Vegas, Nov. 15-16

Las Vegas, NV, October 27, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Marijuana Investor Summit is bringing “The World of Cannabis” to the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Nov. 15-16.

“As global legalization moves forward, we need to look at what other states and countries are doing and learn from one another,” said Randy Shipley, MJIC President. “Each group has its victories and challenges and it’s important that we share experiences, which is what the World of Cannabis is all about. This event is dedicated to education and our new Cannabis Industry Awards recognize success and show just how far we’ve come.”

The event starts with a deep dive into the ever-expanding global scene, using American marijuana initiatives as one of many springboards. Experts will discuss the regulations, investment rules, and opportunities in their regions and around the world.

In addition to the panel discussions of international and state-by-state developments, and an awards ceremony, The World of Cannabis will include four Emerging Brands Showcases, which are an opportunity for companies to pitch their products and services for review and rating by growers and retailers, with audience participation.

The Science and Medicine of Cannabis will be held starting at 1:00 p.m. on Nov. 16 and features sessions on the use of cannabis to treat multiple conditions and how patients can use different methods and strains to properly medicate.

Open – Invest – Purchase on the morning of Nov. 16 is a primer covering the different types of cannabis businesses, regulatory compliance, banking, application processes, licensing, branding and more.

A 7,000-square-foot networking arena offers the best in meet-and-greet space.

Cannabis Industry Awards
The Cannabis Industry Awards, on the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 15, is a “green carpet” event at the Rain Nightclub at the Palms, long heralded as a leading Las Vegas nightclub. This night of entertainment, festivity and networking starts with a VIP reception at 6:00 p.m., with general admission beginning at 7:00 p.m. The winners of Cannabis Industry Awards are chosen by a newly created academy of industry leaders. Private reserved tables, sky boxes and cabanas are available for those wishing to start the evening with the VIP reception.

There is no charge to attend the Cannabis Industry Awards. There is a suggested minimum donation of $25 that will go to the Foundation of Cannabis Unified Standards (FOCUS) and Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS).

FOCUS offers the cannabis community the best set of standards for all cannabis operations. These standards provide a uniform, systematic, and predictable methodology to improve products and services in a cost effective and value-enhanced process. Regulators at the Federal-and state-levels appreciate and will adopt these standards. This is the standards system everyone should rely upon.

Founded in 1986, the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit research and educational organization that develops medical, legal, and cultural contexts for people to benefit from the careful uses of psychedelics and marijuana.
